Refractory epilepsy refers to epilepsy that cannot be controlled by two or more types of anti-epileptic drugs and accounts for about 1/3 of all patients with epilepsy， which seriously affects patients’ quality of life. With the development of minimally invasive neurosurgery techniques and the gradual perfection of preoperative evaluation， stereotactic electroencephalography （SEEG）-guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation has gradually been used in the surgical treatment of refractory epilepsy and has become a relatively safe and effective substitutive therapy for refractory epilepsy with the advantages of marked clinical effect and few complications.
