Family with sequence similarity 19 member A5 （FAM19A5）， also known as TAFA5， is a member of the family with sequence similarity 19 and is mainly expressed in the central nervous system. Studies have shown that FAM19A5 plays a role in regulating cell proliferation and migration and intracellular signal transduction and is involved in the development and progression of hereditary diseases， degenerative diseases， and inflammatory diseases at the gene or protein level. Although it has been found that FAM19A5 is associated with nervous system diseases， there is still limited information on its function in the brain.
