Abstract:Early endovascular therapy has become the standard reperfusion therapy for large vascular occlusive(LVO) ischemic stroke. Intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS) is one of the main causes of vascular occlusive ischemic stroke in Asian people. However, nearly 30% of stroke patients could not receive reperfusion, which may lead to poor functional outcomes. This type of LVO is often associated with reocclusion in endovascular thrombectomy procedures. Compared with cardiogenic embolism, it often requires more rescue measures and longer operation time to achieve succesful recanalization. There is no clear consensus on the optimal endovascular treatment strategy for patients with ICAS-LVO.Therefore, it is very important to early diagonose ICAS-related LVO and formulate the appropriate endovascular treatment strategy before operation. This review summarizes the recent researches on endovascular treatment of ICAS-related LVO.
